How can I posterize a sunset image on Photoshop?

I want to create a dynamic posterize image of a sunset. It will be my father in law present. I have been trying to use a photoshop tutorial but it is to advance for my abilities. Is there a simple method?

    The easiest way would be to open the image in Photoshop and select the filter pull-down menu, go down to the artistic pop-up menu and select poster edges. You can adjust several factors in the posterization to get the effect you want.

    Yup, easy ways of doing it are ..
    You can do
    Image–> Adjustments –> Posterize,
    Or
    Filter —> Artistic —> Cut out,

    and then fiddle with the settings until you get what you want :)

    The easiest and best way (it’s VERY editable) is to use an adjustment layer. You do this by pressing the half black half white button in the bottom right hand side of your layers pallet in Photoshop. There is an option in there called posterize and you can use that to create the effect you want :D.
